Patient Profile:
73 year old woman underwent right mastectomy in December of 2010 followed by implant reconstruction at the end of January 2011.

Surgical Procedure:
The patient had a mastopexy (breast lift) on her left breast at the same time so there would be symetry between both breasts. She did not want to be larger than she was. Post op pictures were taken 8 1/2 weeks following final surgery. She feels very happy and great in clothes.

Patient Profile:
This 55 year old patient was diagnosed with breast cancer of the left breast in 1992 and underwent mastectomy followed by a TRAM surgery. In 2009 she was diagnosed with breast cancer in the right breast as well. Following the mastectomy and chemo therapy she became a patient of Dr. McMillan for breast reconstruction of the right breast.

Surgical Procedure:
The first portion of surgery with Dr. McMillan was for a Tissue Expander (TE), which is implanted in the breast to expand the current skin and tissue. The expander gets filled with saline every 2 weeks or so until it is at the size needed for the next step in the surgery, implant. The patient had a 350 cc gel implant implanted 6 months following the initial TE surgery on the right side.

Three months following her breast implant on the right side, the patient underwent nipple areolar reconstruction on both breasts using tissue from the patients abdomen. 3 months following her nipple reconstruction surgery, the patient had tattooing performed to make the color difference on the aerola and nipple.

The patient is very happy with her final results. She feels great and happy that she did both the breast and nipple reconstruction.
