RevLite Skin Revitalization Kirkland
After the age of 20, your skin produces 1% less collagen each year. When combined with the cumulative effects of sun exposure, unwelcome fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven pigmented skin tones are common concerns.
The effects of aging can now be defied with the RevLite Skin Revitalization treatments.
The RevLite Laser features an advanced PTP setting (PhotoAcoustic Technology Pulse) that gently penetrates the skin to stimulate collagen, resulting in a smoother more youthful even toned complexion. The energy is very selective and targets only the collagen fibers or pigment. Advanced lasers that use PhotoAcoustic energy can treat all skin colors safely including darker skin tones.
Laser skin rejuvenation has a number of advantages over other resurfacing procedures, including chemical peels and microdermabrasion, in that it significantly reduces or eliminates side effects such as discomfort, bleeding and bruising.
What does the treatment feel like?
Many people describe a tingling sensation to a light sparkler sound as the laser pulses. Topical anesthesia is usually not necessary, the treatment only takes around 15-20 minutes, but can be applied if necessary.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Laser skin rejuvenation may cause a mild to moderate redness to the skin, which usually fades within a few hours of the treatment. If you choose to have a more aggressive treatment, you may experience extended redness, swelling, and sensitivity for a few days. In most cases it can easily be concealed with make-up. You will need to avoid sun exposure and certain skin products for a period of time. It is very important that you follow your post-care instructions.
How many laser treatments will I need?
Although you will notice results after your first treatment, non-ablative laser skin revitalization is a gradual process. Most people need four to six treatments spaced three to four weeks apart as a typical treatment series. When addressing deeper lines, wrinkles, and photo damaged skin, a series of six to ten treatments may be recommended. Just as you schedule hair color and nail appointments, many women schedule laser treatments every one to three months as part as their ongoing anti-aging skincare routine.
Your skin is a living record of every moment of damaging UV exposure that you’ve had throughout your life. So whether you’ve had a little or a lot, it all adds up to sun damaged skin. The visible results are sun spots, freckles, and other discolorations on any area of skin that has been exposed, including your face, chest, neck and hands.
Q-Switched lasers produce a special wavelength of light that is absorbed by pigmented lesions (dark brown freckles/sun-spots). The light vibrates and shatters the pigment, breaking the melanin into micro-particles and lightening the lesion. You’ll notice the spot turning gray or white for a few minutes, a natural response of the skin as it absorbs the energy. The spot will then turn darker and slough off within one to two weeks. The laser works incredibly well at treating lighter resistant pigment, birthmarks and can even address acne and post surgical scars.
Results from laser treatments are usually not immediate, taking several months to appear, and a number of treatment sessions may be needed to achieve the desired results. Although safer than traditional resurfacing procedures, there are some risks, including scarring and unwanted lightening/darkening of the treated skin, associated with laser skin rejuvenation.
